Trevor VanBlakenstein — Dental Hygienist
Trevor is Alaskan raised and went to high school at Service High. Fun fact about him is that his mother is also a dental hygienist which is what made him decide to pursue dental hygiene. He completed the Dental Hygiene program at UAA and came to our office shortly after. Trevor loves working with his patients and takes great pride in getting to know them. Trevor enjoys being able to help out the practice when needed and enjoys talking to patients. He does the best he can to make everyone feel comfortable and enjoy their time spent here. He performs his duties to the best of his ability during each hygiene appointment and likes to have fun and it shows.
Outside of work, Trevor spends time with his fiancé, Melissa and their daughter. He enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors and playing sports. His favorite quote is, “Let’s Go!” He is also a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Lakers and loves to talk sports with his patients. Come in for your teeth cleaning and ESPN updates.
Mary Baldwin — Certified Dental Assistant
For over 20 years, Mary has been in the dental field. Mary graduated from UAA in the early 90’s from the Dental assisting program and has been in the industry ever since. Today, Dr. Laudon calls Mary DQ which is short for denture queen. She loves doing lab work and working alongside team members to give her patients the best care possible.
Mary is from Bermuda and spent time living in New York City before coming to Alaska. At the age of 13, she qualified for the Olympics in the 800-meter event in track. In her free time, she enjoys styling hair and nails as well as cooking and crafting.
Triton Kahakai – Lead Dental Assistant
Triton has been with Alcan Dental Group for just over one year. He has 7+ years of experience as a dental assistant and was recently accepted into the 2021 Dental Hygiene Program to become a Registered Dental Hygienist.
When not at work, you can find Triton kayaking, roller blading or traveling to new places in search of an adventure.
Triton says his greatest pleasure in life is to serve his community and help educate the people he is assisting to reach their dental oral goals.
Danielle Kendall – Registered Dental Assistant
Danielle graduated with her associates degree in 2010 and started working with Alcan Dental Group in 2013. She left the practice for family reasons, but recently came back in 2021.
She is proud of her son who has been serving in the US Army for over 10 years. Her daughter works for a security firm in Seattle and would like to use her experience for the Seattle PD.
Danielle has worn many “hats” throughout life as an Aerospace Machinist, worked on the F-22 Raptor Prototype project, NASA, Boeing Space & Defense. She later decided to get into sheet metal fabrication and powder coating. After leaving Boeing she knew she wanted to be in the dental field.
What Danielle loves most about Alcan Dental Group is the family feeling atmosphere and great teamwork experience.
Sierra Smith – Sterile Tech | Dental Assistant
Sierra has been with Alcan Dental Group for just over one year. She graduated from UAA in 2011 with her Dental Assisting Certificate.
When not at work you can find Sierra outdoors, gardening, hiking and cleaning.
What she loves best about Alcan Dental Group is the staff and the standards they have kept with a sterile office. Her duties are cleaning and maintaining the organization of the office sterile supplies.
Nellie Agimuk – Dental Assistant
Nellie has been with Alcan Dental Group since February. As a recent high school graduate, Nellie jumped right into the density field.
When not at work you can find Nellie hiking, biking, fishing, walking and sometimes running.
What Nellie loves best about the practice is the challenge, learning about crowns, bridges, dentures and assisting for crown preps and bridges.
Angelica Martinez — Office Manager
Angelica has been in the dental field for over 17 years, having completed a variety of trainings in implant, scheduling and billing seminars. Angelica’s goal is to help patients from the moment they walk into the office. With her clinical and administrative knowledge, she can help patients with all of their dental needs.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her two sons, two daughters and dog, Hannah. She also enjoys working out at the gym, cooking and getting her nails done at the salon. Angelica is fluent in Spanish and English, so patients who would feel more comfortable with a Spanish speaker, please see her at the front desk.
Kathy Tuakoi – Scheduling Coordinator
Kathy graduated from Baldwin High School in Maui, Hawaii, where she was captain of the volleyball team for three years. She joined our team in March 2019. Kath’s family means everything to her, and she loves being part of a second family here at Alcan Dental Group. Kathy will be the one who will give you a freindly phone call to remind you about your regular and recall appointments!
In her free time Kathy likes to go to the gym and play volleyball.
Faamanuiaga (Elena) Mikaele – Front Desk / Recall Scheduler Coordinator
Faamanuiaga, who goes by Elena, has been apart of the Alcan Dental Group team since October 2020. She graduated with honors at Alaska Community College in Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. If you hear her singing, it’s because she grew up in a musician family.
What she loves best about Alcan Dental Group is the team she gets to work with and being able to make a difference in the patients’ lives who she gets to help on a daily basis.
Megen Kilkenny – Medicaid Billing Specialist
Megen has been with Alcan Dental Group for almost two years. After graduating from High School in 2019, she started as a front office receptionist.
When not working you can find Megen hanging out with family & friend, bowling, camping and hiking.
