Dr. Lauren Gagliano, DDS
A native of Louisiana and baccalaureate graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, Dr. Gagliano graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. After graduation, she moved to the Navajo Indian Reservation and worked at Sage Memorial Hospital.
While there, she traveled to the remote dental clinics on the reservation, taking care of Native Americans in the rural communities who were unable to come to the hospital. She also took care of pediatric patients in and outside of the Operating Room.
In 1997, she relocated to Anchorage, Alaska and has had the privilege and honor to serve in many different arenas within the dental profession including, private practice, Forensic Dentistry, Clinical Instructor at the UAA, and in Public Health. Serving as the Dental Director in Fort Yukon, as an Associate Dentist in Kodiak, Sand Point and King Cove, “My profession has allowed me to provide dental care to those who would otherwise not have been able to receive it.”
She has participated in mission trips globally, traveling to Fiji and China, as well as locally in the Mission of Mercy right here in Anchorage.
Dr. Gagliano will continue to provide the highest quality of dental care and clinical performance to her patients. She has a commitment to her patients to provide the best possible dental experience, along with compassion and understanding of their personal dental needs. Establishing a relationship of mutual trust and respect is essential in creating a great doctor/patient relationship.
Always up for the next adventure, she and her husband enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, cooking (and eating), traveling, football (Geaux Saints!), and exploring all that the beautiful state of Alaska has to offer.
Dr. James Hyer, DDS
Dr. Hyer became a Dentist after meeting his dentist as a teen. He inspired him to know dental treatment does not have to be a difficult experience for patients. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of his patients.
Originally from Eugene Oregon and after Dental school at OHSU., Dr Hyer moved to Alaska with the military as a staff oral surgeon with the US Army.
He is skilled in providing IV sedation, implants, oral surgery, endo, botox and juvederm procedures, and all areas of general dentistry.
When Dr Hyer is not working on Fridays or Saturdays at Alcan, he’s hiking, skiiing, skating, he loves journalism and photography.
Dr. Mark R. Birmingham, DDS
Michigan native, Dr. Mark Birmingham has been practicing in the Anchorage, Alaska, area for several years. Prior to practicing in Anchorage, Dr. Birmingham completed his undergraduate studies at Texas State University. After finishing his undergraduate courses, he moved on to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2015. Dr. Birmingham typically takes multiple continuing education courses each year to stay on top of the field of dentistry.
Dr. Birmingham’s wife, Lindsey Birmingham is a local physical therapist. In his free time, Dr. Birmingham enjoys skiing, mountain biking, fat biking, running, fishing and playing sports.
Dr. Birmingham wants to help his patients achieve their best results. It is important to him that his patients feel happy about showing off their smile and have the peace of mind that they are healthier and more functional after completing their treatment.
